How Do I Start?

Online Skills Check

The AAT Accounting Qualification is separated into three levels, Foundation, Intermediate and Technician. If you have relevant work experience or qualifications you may want to join at the Intermediate level. The AAT has developed an online Skillcheck to test your accounting knowledge, and depending on your score, it will guide you towards the appropriate entry level.

The online Skillcheck consists of 14 questions and should take you less than 30 minutes to complete. It tests the knowledge and understanding you would need to demonstrate when completing the Foundation units ‘Recording Income and Receipts’, ‘Making and Recording Payments’, and ‘Preparing Ledger Balances and an Initial Trial Balance’.

After completing the Skillcheck you will be prompted to print your answers. Forward your Scores, Review Results ---here---.

 Paper Based Skills Check

Alternatively you may download the paper based skills check.

We recommend that you read the information on the AAT Skill check, answer the questions at the end of the document for both the Foundation Stage and Intermediate Stage skills, and send them to MCG here for advice.
